so if you're stuck using a craptop out on say, a business trip in canada... you should know that sc2's settings scale way down very nicely. i can play a full round with no slowdowns on a mobile intel GMA X4500HD and that's a garbage chip as far as anyone is concerned.

So far my favorite way of dealing with gay turtling protoss is just rolling around with like 30 speed lings and 20 mutas killing any expansions they try to get while I am expanding everywhere

literally makes dudes leave because they're just sitting in their base with nothing to gather and whenever they try to attack my base I come up behind it with my fast as fuck army

so i just spent the morning trying to be fancy and do cool tactics, like reavor or storm drops in sc1.  Basically I'm shocked that psi-storm sucks balls, the radius  seems smaller and it seems weaker now and you would not believe the cost to get Psi-storm.  It's actually retarded.

150min/100gas for building 1
150min/200gas for building 2
200min/200gas for the storm research (required)

so 500min/500gas total before you can even put a unit out.

once that's done the cost of the high temp is 50min/150gas which is reasonable but the high temp has to wait like 25 seconds before he has enough energy to cast a single storm.  If going against a terran, a single ghost can (from what I've seen) easily EMP all of them rendering them useless.

Compare this to a colossus. 

250/100 for building 1 (a core building for any protoss game, will be built no matter what, unlike the high templar's building)
200/200 for building 2
200/200 for range upgrade (makes them a lot better but not really required)

Total there is 450min and 300gas with no wait time before they can at least do something.  Or 650/500 with the upgrade. 

I've never seen a psistorm in one of my games and I've only seen two replays where someone got them. 

One useful thing though, user, is that the high templar have "feedback" right from the get go.  It takes the targets energy and does damage equal to it.  That's how a protoss should counter battlecruiser spam.

Gayzaar, that's how I deal with a turtler, too. I get a lot of "wow, just end it" after like 7 minutes, it's kind of funny, but doesn't always work out due to them hitting me as I'm teching up. Guess I could scout more, but scouting a terran early is hard.

Steve, I see a lot of protoss players use colossus more than you, I don't know if that means anything for your general strategy. It could work, it could not. Just sharing my observation. 100%.

I just discovered from watchin dis replay (because I am a minor in starcraft strategy theory) that since colossus are so tall they can get hit by units that only attack air like a corruptor or stuff like that.  Also basically saw battlecruisers for the first time in 2 and whoaaaaaaa they are cool as fuck.

I actually almost always have Colossus in 1v1 games but very rarely for 2v2.  Since people can turtle in 1v1's teching isn't such a risky strategy as it is in 2v2's.

It's hard as shit.  One thing that people always forget about are the Changelings dropped from Overseers.  Upgrade that overlord, move it to a corner of his base, poop out a changeling, and hope he doesn't notice a marine just walking around his base

yeah, I actually devoted about an hour to just finding and watching top PvT replays yesterday and another hour to it today.  I was really fucking up the strategy bad but so far I've raped every Terran I've played against.  None of this is really useful for 2v2's as a key part of the strategy is to hold off the Terran until you have X units.
